Rattle

Overview

Rattle respects your privacy when using this app. This Privacy Policy explains what data and permissions is used in order to provide our service. (We, Our and Us shall mean Rattle.)

Data

We respect your privacy, so only use the necessary data used to run the core functionality of Rattle. We do not sell or trade any information to third parties.

Your geolocation data (if granted permission) will be used to find your location at a given time, which is necessary for the core functionality of this application. This is outlined in the Geolocation section of this Privacy Policy.

Permissions

Rattle will request permissions in order to send your location to a contact in event of an emergency. These can be denied, however will affect the applications core functionality (to send your location via SMS to a contact.)

These permissions include:

  • SMS Permission - Send an SMS to a selected contact only in the event of an emergency.
  • Location Permission - Access location based on GPS/Wi-Fi/Network, in the event of an emergency.
  • Wake Lock Permission- Rattle will continue to process device movement (via Accelerometer data) whilst the phone is locked.
Geolocation

If granted permissions, Rattle will use user location data, only for the purposes of providing our service. This includes displaying your location on a Google Maps API within Rattle. This also includes finding your coordinates (based on GPS/Wi-Fi/Network) to be sent in event of an emergency. This location permission will be requested and can be refused.
